When a tool fails, returns something wrong, or does less than you need, your agent can tell your workspace's team without you writing anything up. It's the ask_for_help tool, and it's there on every workspace connector.
Say it in the chat, or let the agent offer:
"That CRM lookup keeps failing - ask the team for help."
What can be sent
One request, one of three kinds:
- Help - you're stuck, or want to know how to do something.
- Bug - a tool failed or gave a wrong answer.
- Feature request - you want something the tools can't do.
The agent writes a title and a description for somebody who wasn't in the conversation: what you were trying to do, what happened, what you expected. It can name the toolkit it concerns. It then gives you a link to the request, and tells you the answer will come back through Kythene.
Viewers can't raise asks, so they can't send one, and their agents aren't nudged to.
What goes with it
Kythene attaches your agent's recent tool calls itself: up to the last 20 in that workspace from the last 2 hours, each with its full arguments and result and whether it worked. The agent doesn't choose them and can't leave any out, so the team sees exactly what happened rather than your summary of it.
That includes whatever those calls carried, so it's more than you'd put in a message. It stays inside Kythene: it's copied into the request and shown only to the workspace's owners and admins, never sent to a server or anyone outside.
Who's told
Every owner and admin of the workspace, at once, except the person who asked:
- a line in their inbox, linking to the request, and
- an email with the same link. It always sends, as long as the instance has a mailer.
If you're the only owner, nobody else is told. The request is still in Asks for you to see.
How the answer comes back
The request is an ask in the workspace, with a kind badge. When somebody else replies to it, or marks it done, it lands in your inbox with an excerpt of the reply. Your agent's next brief or catch_up lists it too, once, with the reply and a link. Your own notes on it, and your agent's, tell nobody.
Nudges
You don't have to remember it's there. After a toolkit call fails, your agent's result carries a line pointing at ask_for_help, at most once an hour per server. After a good run (20 toolkit calls and at least a week since the last one) it asks whether anything's missing or awkward. It's the same for everyone on the workspace, whichever client they use.
Answering them
Owners and admins work these from Asks. See the Asks screen for the filter and what a request's page shows.
